Last post for awhile
I'm leaving town tomorrow to start the next chapter of my life. It's a really weird feeling, but I'n not feeling as sad as I thought I would. I think most of the emotional turmoil is over. Time to look forward.
About the only really fun items on my To Do List were getting free stuff at my LYS and LQS (local quilt store? Is that what they're called?). I had $25 in free yarn coming to me and $20 in free fabric for filling up my punch cards. Wahoo! The yarn is already packed away, but here's the fabric:
I plan to make a wall hanging to coordinate with our comforter. Our realtor was rather displeased at our lack of decorating skills, so I figured a wall hanging for the bedroom would be a good idea. It might be finished before the NEXT time we have to sell a house! It will give me a good excuse to check out the quilt stores in my new city because I still need several more fabrics. I'm not sure when I'll be able to sew again, but at least I can stare at my lovely fabric.
Here's the baby hat I finished a few weeks ago and never posted. My knitting note pad is tucked away, so I'll spare you the details.
The only thing I've been working on lately are these cabled footies from One Skein using leftover Cascade 220 from my Ribby Cardi. I don't really like the pointy toe on the first footie, so I think I'm going to have to redo it.
I'm staying at an extended stay hotel for a couple of weeks, then I'll probably get an apartment. I haven't packed any clothes yet, but you can rest easy knowing that I have PLENTY of crafts all ready to go. I filled up a plastic tote with yarn, books, magazines and needles and a box with my next (gulp) FIVE cross stitch projects. I had to sew borders on my cross stitch fabrics in order to make them fit in my Q-snap frame, so I figured I might as well be REALLY prepared, since I don't know when I'll see my sewing machine again.
I don't know when I'll have internet access again, so this will probably be the last you hear from me for awhile. Hopefully I will have LOTS of progress photos to show you when I return!
